Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav got information about the paddy procurement work being done in the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told the officials that the amount of procured paddy should be provided to the farmers on time. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav discussed paddy procurement with Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister's Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura and Principal Secretary Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Mrs. Rashmi Arun Shami in a meeting at Chief Minister's residence Samatva Bhavan.
It was told in the meeting that so far 36 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from more than five and a half lakh farmers at the minimum support price in the state at the procurement centers in the districts. About 44 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is estimated to be procured in the state. Procurement of paddy in the state is being done till 23 January 2025. An amount of more than Rs 5 thousand crore has been transferred to the accounts of farmers.
Programs will be held across the state on Makar Sankranti
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav received information about the preparations for various programs being organized in the state on Makar Sankranti. The outline of various programs is being prepared in the presence of Laadli sisters between 12 and 14 January on Makar Sankranti. These programs will include feeding jaggery and sesame to sisters, giving bangles and other gifts. Public representatives will also be present in the programs. The activities of the Chief Minister Jankalyan Abhiyan will also be linked to these programs. The state level program will be broadcast across the state. All the programs are being finalized soon.
