Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Friday conducted a high-level review of the ongoing Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign, the Sankalp Se Samadhan Campaign, and various public welfare activities through video conferencing. He held detailed discussions with Commissioners and Collectors of the state regarding the progress of schemes and provided necessary directions.
Chief Minister emphasized that significant efforts are being made through various campaigns for the betterment of the state and society. Public participation and engagement are crucial for the success and effectiveness of these initiatives. He urged all officials to work with dedication and focus to ensure maximum public involvement.
The Chief Minister directed all Collectors to expedite public welfare works and ensure effective, efficient, and large-scale implementation of government schemes at the ground level. He also stressed the importance of working in coordination with the public and elected representatives, taking into account their needs and suggestions to strengthen people-centric governance and enhance credibility.
He instructed Collectors to regularly tour their districts, interact with people, listen to their grievances, and resolve issues promptly. He also advised them to stay overnight in villages, which would help improve the ground-level implementation of government schemes.
Dr. Yadav stated that the “Sankalp Se Samadhan Campaign” was conducted from 12 January to 31 March 2026, benefiting citizens through 106 types of government schemes. He directed Collectors to remain proactive in achieving the campaign’s core objectives and ensure maximum benefits reach the public.
Regarding water conservation, he said the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign, launched on 19 March, will continue until 30 June 2026. Due to water harvesting efforts over the past two years, the campaign has gained national recognition. He emphasized the need to intensify efforts this year to conserve water and revive dried water sources.
Wheat Procurement
Reviewing the ongoing wheat procurement process, the Chief Minister directed that wheat from small farmers should be procured first and payments must be made on time. He instructed Collectors to closely inspect procurement centers and ensure availability of essential facilities such as shade, drinking water, gunny bags, ORS solutions, and other necessities during extreme heat. Farmers should not face any procedural or logistical difficulties.
The Additional Chief Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, informed that procurement is progressing smoothly. So far, over 496,000 metric tonnes of wheat have been procured from more than 113,000 farmers, with payments exceeding ₹355 crore already made. Notably, for the first time, farmers who had their produce weighed on the first day received payment the very next day.
The Chief Minister also directed the Urban Development and Administration Department to integrate its cleanliness drive with the Jal Ganga Campaign and set up drinking water kiosks (pyau) at various places with public participation, ensuring their cleanliness and encouraging innovation through technology.
Rainwater Harvesting in Sandipani Schools
The Chief Minister instructed that the remarkable improvement in board examination results due to Sandipani Schools should be promoted as a national achievement. He noted that public perception has improved significantly, with parents now shifting their children from private schools to government Sandipani schools.
He directed the School Education and Tribal Affairs Departments to install rainwater harvesting systems in all Sandipani schools. He also emphasized showcasing these schools to the public when they reopen in June. He highlighted that due to improvements in the education system, the state’s school dropout ratio has reached zero.
Health and Infrastructure
The Chief Minister instructed the Health Department to ensure that all major religious places in the state have at least 50-bedded hospitals and to establish burn units at all divisional headquarters. Strict adherence to summer medical protocols must be ensured, and all hospitals should have adequate medicines available. He also directed preparations for the Swachhata Survey to be completed.
Drinking Water Supply
He emphasized strengthening the drinking water supply system to ensure uninterrupted availability during the summer. Where necessary, water should be supplied through tankers, and proper maintenance of water structures should be ensured so that no citizen faces water-related issues.
Gyan Bharatam App
The Chief Minister mentioned that the Union Ministry of Culture has developed the “Gyan Bharatam App,” where citizens can upload old literary or religious manuscripts. It was informed that more than 650,000 manuscripts have already been uploaded as of 17 April 2026. He directed Collectors to form district-level committees for this initiative.
During the conference, Collectors shared achievements related to various campaigns. The Chief Minister congratulated high-performing districts and instructed underperforming ones to improve. He also announced that Collectors will now be ranked based on their performance over the past year to encourage healthy competition.
Conference in Bhopal on 20 April
The Chief Minister stated that Madhya Pradesh has always been a leader in implementing schemes for women’s welfare. A Women Empowerment Conference will be held in Bhopal on 20 April, including a rally and public gathering.
He also directed Collectors to improve the delivery system and make it more citizen-friendly, emphasizing that they should function as team leaders in their districts.
