Prime Minister Shri Modi brings honour to tribal people

Madhya Pradesh is jubilant today. The leading light of the nation Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is visiting Jhabua to address the Jan Jatiya Sammelan. Today is a significant day. Today marks the death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji which is being celebrated as dedication day. His philosophy of integral humanism is a guide to us. The life of Pt. Deendayal ji Upadhyay is a symbol of dedication, which inspired the society to work dedicatedly to the welfare of the poorest.

It is a coincidence that on this day the revolutionary tribal hero Veer Tilka Manjhi was born in Santhal Pargana. We all know the Prime Minister's affection, dedication and respect for the tribal community. He is kind enough to have agreed to visit Jhabua. Jhabua is not an ordinary land .

Be it the Sultanate period of subjugation or the British rule, the forest dwellers of this area fought continuously and also provided protection to every revolutionary. This is the birthplace of revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad. Today, on behalf of the eight and a half crore people of Madhya Pradesh, I welcome the Prime Minister to Jhabua.

It is the resolve of the Prime Minister that the water, forests and land of the tribal society should not be harmed and every possible effort should be made for their welfare. He has protected the interests of more than 11 crore tribal people of the country. That is why the tribal community is feeling safe and honoured . The illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji emphasized on the need to focus on the four “ pillars” of developed India - Poor, Youth, Farmer and Women power.

Prime Minister Shri Modi has taken many initiatives for the development of the tribal community. He emphasized on the use of millets, which increased the popularity of Sri Anna. Inspired by the Prime Minister, we started Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana to promote the production of millets. In this, an additional amount of Rs 10 per kg will be provided as incentive to the farmers producing Kodo-Kutki, Ragi, Jowar, Bajra etc. In the 14 tribal dominated districts of the state where people of Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya specially backward tribes reside, benefits of about Rs 29 crore 11 lakh have been given through the food subsidy scheme.

This naming is a proof of independence and tribal consciousness. In the same sequence, in the sacred memory of Saint Shiromani Pujya Ravidas ji, the construction work of Sant Ravidas Memorial-cum-Community Building is going on in 30 Scheduled Caste dominated districts.

With the guidance and inspiration of the Prime Minister, who is dedicated to the welfare of the tribal, many welfare schemes have been started in Madhya Pradesh for the upliftment of the tribes.
