NEET PG 2024: Madhya Pradesh Students Scammed by Phone Calls Promising Seats for Money

Jabalpur: As NEET PG 2024 approaches, cybercriminals in Madhya Pradesh have devised a new way to target students. These criminals are making phone calls to students, promising them NEET PG seats "in exchange for money." Several students have fallen victim to this scam, losing lakhs of rupees.

Stealing Student Data to Commit Fraud:

The cybercriminals have stolen student data from NEET PG registration forms. This data includes mobile numbers, alternative contact numbers, and even NEET PG roll numbers. Using this information, they call students directly and convince them they can secure admission into NEET PG.

How Criminals Lured Victims:

Since passing NEET is mandatory for admission to postgraduate programs, many students were lured into the trap. The criminals claim to have access to NEET PG question papers and answers, offering them in exchange for money.

Complaints from Victims:

Three students in Jabalpur have filed complaints with the police. These students reported transferring ₹50,000, ₹30,000, and ₹25,000 respectively to the scammers. After receiving the money, the criminals ceased contact with the students.

Police Urge Caution:

Additional SP Suryakant Sharma, commenting on the case, urged students not to trust any calls or messages promising admission in NEET PG. He advised students to immediately contact the police or cyber cell if they encounter any such fraud attempts.

This incident raises serious concerns about the security of the NEET PG 2024 exam. Students must be cautious and avoid sharing personal information or money with unknown individuals.
