Joining virtually the national programme held at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of International Yoga Day, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed the state-level ‘Yoga Sangam’ mass Yoga practice programme at Atal Path in Bhopal. On International Yoga Day, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also practiced Yoga along with participants for a healthy and disease-free body. The live broadcast of the address by Prime Minister Shri Modi was aired on this occasion. Following the Common Yoga Protocol broadcast from the national program, a large number of students and general public present at Atal Path practiced Yoga under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. The programme was attended by Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey, Member of Parliament Shri V.D. Sharma and Shri Alok Sharma.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, speaking at the YogAndhra programme in Visakhapatnam, said that Yoga means union. Yoga has connected the world over past decade. When India presented a proposal in the United Nations (UN) for recognising Yoga at the international level, 175 countries stood with India’s proposal. Such unprecedented support in today’s times is not ordinary. This was not just support, but an effort for the welfare of the world. Today, Yoga has become a part of the lifestyle of millions of people around the world. Yoga is for everyone and belongs to everyone. It provides excellent health by crossing age and all other boundaries. How Yoga can be socially promoted in society can be understood from the success of the YogAndhra campaign. This year’s theme is "Yoga for One Earth – One Health." Yoga, for us, is a medium to bring the world on one platform while walking on the path of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. It is a journey of rising above the self, towards “we”; it is a feeling of dedication, service, and coexistence.
Prime Minister Shri Modi said that many regions in the world are going through times of unrest, but Yoga brings us peace. The global community is urged to make Yoga a medium for global partnership. Today, efforts are ongoing to establish the scientific basis of Yoga within modern medicine. Digital technology has also played an important role in advancing Yoga. The mantra of "Heal in India" is becoming famous in the world, and Yoga has a big role in this too. Trained Yoga teachers are being deployed in Ayushman Yoga Temples across the country. Our effort is to give the world the benefit of Yoga. Rising obesity is a big challenge for the world. On Yoga Day, Prime Minister Shri Modi, appealing to the people of the country and the world to take a resolution to reduce obesity, said that along with eating food with less oil, it is necessary to adopt Yoga as a means to a healthy lifestyle.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is moving forward with the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. For us, the world is one family, and the occasion of World Yoga Day is a day to introduce the world to India's core philosophy and Yoga style. Practicing Yoga brings peace to the mind, peace brings contentment, and when there is contentment in the mind, a person moves towards non-violence. Yoga increases physical strength and mental peace and joy. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav offered obeisance to Maharishi Patanjali, the creator of Ashtanga Yoga philosophy, and expressed gratitude for giving Yoga as a boon to humanity for physical, mental, and spiritual health.Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the day of June 21 is also very important from the perspective of astronomical calculations. On this day, Lord Surya (Sun God) completes his northward journey and enters the southern path. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has introduced the world to India’s core philosophy and way of life through Yoga. Considering the whole earth as one family, Prime Minister Shri Modi not only protected the people of the country during the COVID period but also provided necessary assistance to more than 100 countries in the world and saved lives.
Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey said that Yoga Day has become a medium of harmony between different religions and cultures. Yoga, with the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, has developed the world as one family. Yoga gives us the opportunity to look within ourselves for some time in the busy life. The mind (chitta) can be kept healthy through Yoga. In the Gita, Yogeshwar Shri Krishna has said that for a person, skill in action is Yoga.
Member of Parliament Shri V.D. Sharma said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had given the message of doing Yoga to make the world happy. Ten years of World Yoga Day have been completed. Today we are celebrating the 11th International Yoga Day. Prime Minister Shri Modi has expanded India's health consciousness to the whole world through Yoga.
On the theme of "Yoga for One Earth – One Health," in the programme held in Bhopal for the 11th International Yoga Day, MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, Bhopal Mayor Smt. Malti Rai, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana, along with public representatives and Yoga lovers were present. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, various programs were organised in all districts of the state.
