Gifts for Farmers and Youth at Farmers Convention and Employment Fair

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the “Pradhan Mantri Krishak Mitra Surya Yojana” Solar Pump Portal during a Farmers’ Convention and Employment Fair to be held at village Dandaraoa in Mehgaon Tehsil of Bhind district on Saturday at 2:00 PM. On this occasion, he will announce several benefits for farmers. Under the leadership of CM Dr. Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh government has set an ambitious goal to make over 32 lakh farmers self-reliant in solar energy production. Farmers will be able to generate solar energy based on their needs, use it for irrigation and other purposes, and sell the surplus electricity to the government.

Key Highlights of the “Pradhan Mantri Krishak Mitra Surya Yojana”

Farmers will be required to register for solar pump installation through a portal using their Aadhaar number and e-KYC. The land details (khasra) selected on the portal must be in the farmer's name and linked to their Aadhaar. The scheme includes 30% central subsidy for the installation of solar pumps. The state share will be arranged through a loan taken in the farmer's name, which will be repaid by the state government. Farmers can install solar pumps ranging from 1 HP to 7.5 HP capacities. Priority will be given to those already registered on the departmental portal and found eligible. Farmers with temporary electricity connections or without electricity in FY 2023–24 and 2024–25 will also be eligible. Farmers can choose from 36 pre-configured solar pump unit models based on capacity and requirements.

This initiative is expected to significantly empower farmers, reduce dependency on conventional electricity, and boost rural income by enabling energy production and trade.
