Expand Activities under the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has emphasised the need to further expand the activities under the ongoing Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign in Madhya Pradesh to maximise rainwater harvesting. He said that conserving rainwater would not only recharge drinking water sources but also ensure adequate water availability for agriculture. Dr. Yadav noted that the positive impact of the community-driven efforts under this campaign would become increasingly evident in the future. He called upon all sections of society to actively participate in the mission to capture every drop of rainwater.
Water Security for Future Generations
In Bhind district, Minister for New and Renewable Energy Shri Rakesh Shukla performed the bhoomi-pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the restoration of a water body and wells at Ward No. 13, Van Khandeshwar Temple premises in Mehgaon, with an investment of ₹55.63 lakh under the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign. Shri Shukla described the campaign as a "protective shield" ensuring water availability for future generations. Along with District Panchayat President Smt. Bhadauria, the Minister, participated in a voluntary labour drive (shramdaan) to clean the pond at the temple site and planted various saplings including jamun, mango, and amla.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Shukla said that the meaningful results of the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav last year, are now visible. This year, too, the campaign has evolved into a people’s movement across the state.
Home Guard Volunteers Conduct Cleanup Drive for Shipra River in Dewas
In Dewas, the Home Guard team organised a cleanup drive along the banks of the Shipra River at Hirli village. Public representatives, villagers, and schoolchildren joined the effort, collectively removing about 40 trolley loads of waste from the riverbanks. The Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign is being undertaken to purify the Shipra River ahead of the upcoming Ujjain Simhastha festival.
Street Plays Promote Water Conservation in Chhindwara
As part of the campaign, a street play was staged at Khunajhir Kala village in the Mohkhed block of Chhindwara district. Artists from the Navankur Prabhat Yuva Vikas Mandal performed the play at the Panchayat premises, delivering strong messages on water conservation, sanitation, and solid waste management. Following the performance, attendees were administered a pledge to conserve water.
