Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited the Police Headquarters on Saturday evening and conducted a detailed review of the state's law and order situation. Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana and senior officers were present at the meeting.
Ensuring Respect for Public Representatives
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh has taken a positive step by issuing necessary directives for ensuring due respect to elected public representatives. These instructions were framed earlier in accordance with established protocols during previous governments, but their proper compliance was sometimes neglected knowingly or unknowingly. Fresh directives have now been issued to enforce these arrangements effectively. Dr. Yadav emphasized that both tradition and rules mandate due respect for public representatives. The state government is seriously committed to ensuring strict adherence to these norms.
Progress in Naxal Control
Dr. Yadav mentioned that commendable work is being done in the field of Naxal control in the state. He also directed the police to remain vigilant to prevent any illegal activities in educational institutions. The state government is determined to protect citizens' interests and build a crime-free society.
Instructions Issued to Identify and Deport Pakistani Nationals
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, while reviewing the law and order situation in Madhya Pradesh following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, directed strict implementation of the instructions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. He instructed that Pakistani visa holders residing in the state be identified and, as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, measures be taken to ensure their departure from Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, students from Jammu and Kashmir studying in Madhya Pradesh should be identified, and their security must be ensured.
Improvement in Balaghat's Status in Naxal Control – A Significant Achievement
Dr. Yadav highlighted that a major achievement in the review of Naxal control operations is that Balaghat district has now been removed from the category of severely Naxal-affected areas. Other districts of the state are also witnessing improvements in the Naxal crime category. In the past one and a half years, several hardcore Naxalites have been neutralized. Dr. Yadav reiterated the state’s commitment to the complete eradication of Naxalism. In line with the deadline set by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Madhya Pradesh will eliminate Naxalism completely within the next year. The latest technology and maximum use of resources are being employed in the anti-Naxal operations, along with efforts to integrate local communities into the security system.
State Government to Take All Necessary Steps to Curb Criminal Activities
Dr. Yadav stated that the police are working promptly on crime control, and it is encouraging to see that necessary efforts are being made to counter emerging societal challenges and criminal elements. Necessary improvements are also being made in systems as per the new laws implemented under the initiative of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Coordination between police and administrative machinery is strengthening. Police officers and personnel engaged in anti-Naxal and crime control efforts are being appropriately incentivized, including out-of-turn promotions and allowances.
Educational Institutions Must Not Become Crime Hotspots
Dr. Yadav instructed during the meeting that educational institutions across the state must be closely monitored. Expressing concern over reports from Bhopal about certain youths misbehaving with girl students from schools and colleges, he directed that strict surveillance be maintained to ensure that no illegal activities occur in or near educational premises. Necessary security arrangements must be enforced, and offenders must not be spared under any circumstances.
Police Force Must Remain Alert During Festivals
Considering the upcoming festivals, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that peace and law and order must be maintained across the state. He instructed that all necessary preparations be made to ensure harmony and order. The police force must remain on alert mode and exercise special vigilance at sensitive locations. Additional forces should be deployed as required, and proper arrangements should be made in time to allow citizens to celebrate their festivals in a fearless and peaceful environment.
Keep a Close Watch on Social Media
Dr. Yadav also directed that a vigilant eye be kept on messages and videos circulating on various social media platforms. If any misleading information is found circulating, it should be immediately countered and the public should be informed with accurate details. He noted that Social Media Cells have been established in every district, and police officers must monitor social media content closely and take appropriate action.
