Bhopal Set to gain a new identity as industrial capital: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is entering a new phase of industrial development, with the Global Investors Summit 2025 set to be the biggest testament to this transformation. This event is being organized in the capital, Bhopal, for the first time, marking not just an investment conference but a historic step towards establishing Bhopal as industrial capital. Dr. Yadav emphasized that the capital already has a strong foundation for industrial growth, and with GIS 2025, Bhopal will accelerate its journey towards becoming a major industrial center.

Bhopal is not only the administrative center of Madhya Pradesh but also holds immense geographical potential to become an ideal industrial hub. Its central location within the state makes it a strategic point for logistics and supply chain operations. Several major industrial areas around Bhopal are already well-developed and poised to attract new investments through the Global Investors Summit. Industrial zones such as Mandideep, Bagroda, Pilukhedi, Maksi, Govindpura, Acharpura, and Phanda play a crucial role in supporting small and medium enterprises, while the units established here significantly contribute to strengthening the state’s industrial landscape.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the state government is focused on the comprehensive development of industrial infrastructure, with several schemes being implemented to promote investment in Bhopal. Projects such as the Super Corridor, IT Park, and Electronics Manufacturing Cluster are already underway near the capital, making it a much preferred destination for investors. Additionally, the presence of excellent educational and research institutions in Bhopal makes it a hub of skilled human resources, which is vital for sustained industrial development.

This time at GIS 2025, sector-specific sessions are being organized as a key initiative, providing investors with the opportunity to engage directly with the relevant departments for their respective sectors. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the summit will showcase more than 20 investment and industry policies for the first time, marking a unique initiative of its kind in the country. The government has placed special emphasis on policy reforms, creating a favorable industrial environment, and enhancing ease of doing business to make the investment process faster and more streamlined.

To strengthen Bhopal’s industrial capacity, the government is continuously expanding its infrastructure. The development of national highways, modern logistics centers, enhanced air connectivity, and an extensive rail network linking the capital are making it even more effective from an industrial standpoint. Recently, the inauguration of Rewa Airport has further boosted the state’s air connectivity, enabling industries to access their markets more efficiently.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that GIS-2025 will bring new opportunities not only for big investors but also for local industries, start-ups and MSMEs. This summit will also play an important role in connecting the traditional industries located near Bhopal to the global market and empowering them with new technology and capital.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that after GIS-2025, Bhopal will not only be the administrative center of Madhya Pradesh, but it will also emerge as a major destination for business, innovation, and investment. Along with this, it will be a decisive step towards establishing Bhopal as an industrial capital, which will take the economic scenario of the state to new heights.
