Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav on behalf of the citizens of Madhya Pradesh for allocating a budget of Rs 14 thousand 745 crore for railway facilities for Madhya Pradesh in the recently presented Union Budget.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that, for the first time since independence, Madhya Pradesh has been allocated such a substantial amount for railway-related development projects. The Union Railway Minister expressed satisfaction over the state’s achievement of 100 percent rail electrification. The Railway Ministry is receiving full cooperation from the state. Dr. Yadav further highlighted that last year, Madhya Pradesh received approval for the Indore-Manmad rail line and the rail project connecting Indore to Dahod, Gujarat via Dhar. Citizens of Madhya Pradesh are continually benefiting from the development of the rail network in all directions, improvements in freight-related facilities, and the enhancement of railway bridges and stations. This progress is truly encouraging.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Railway Budget 2025-26 will be a milestone in the social and economic development of the state, along with the expansion of passenger facilities. Madhya Pradesh has received unprecedented allocations in this year’s Railway Budget. This budget will not only expand the railway network but also create new employment opportunities in the state. The modernization of railways and the enhancement of passenger facilities will provide a fresh impetus to the economic development of Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Yadav expressed his heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Modi and Union Railway Minister Shri Vaishnav for their support.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the Railway Budget 2025-26 announced for Madhya Pradesh, the state has been given unprecedented gifts for rail infrastructure development. A huge budgetary allocation of Rs 14,745 crore has been made in this budget, which will play an important role in the expansion and modernization of the state's rail network.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 31 new rail projects have been approved in the Railway Budget 2025-26, whose total length is 5,869 km, and an investment of Rs 1,04,987 crore is proposed on these. Completion of these projects will provide better rail connectivity to various areas of the state and will significantly improve passenger facilities.
80 railway stations will be developed as AMRUT stations
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that for the convenience of passengers, 80 stations of Madhya Pradesh are being developed as ‘AMRUT stations’, on which Rs 2,708 crore will be spent. These stations include Akouria, Amla, Anuppur, Ashoknagar, Balaghat, Banapura, Bargawan, Byohari, Berchha, Betul, Bhind, Bhopal, Bijuri, Bina, Beawar, Chhindwara, Dabra, Damoh, Datia, Dewas, Gadarwara, Ganjbasoda, Ghoradongri, Guna, Gwalior, Harda, Harpalpur, Indore Junction, Itarsi Junction, Jabalpur, Junnardev, Kareli, Katni Junction, Katni Mudwara, Katni South, Khachrod, Khajuraho Junction, Khandwa, Khirkiya, Laxmibai Nagar, Maihar, Maksi Junction, Mandla Fort, Mandsaur, MCS Chhatarpur, Meghnagar, Morena, Multai, Nagda Junction, Nainpur Junction, MCS Chhatarpur, Meghnagar, Morena, Multai, Nagda Junction, Nainipur Junction, Narmadapuram (Hoshangabad), Narsinghpur, Nepnagar, Neemuch, Orchha, The stations included are Pandhurna, Pipariya, Ratlam, Rewa, Ruthiyai, Sanchi, Saint Hirdaram Nagar, Satna, Sagar, Sehore, Seoni, Shahdol, Shajapur, Shyamgarh, Sheopur Kalan, Shivpuri, Shridham, Shujalpur, Sihora Road, Singrauli, Tikamgarh, Ujjain, Umaria, Vidisha and Vikramgarh Alot.
Under the station redevelopment projects, work is being done on the redevelopment of important stations like Rani Kamlapati, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Satna, Indore, Bina and Jabalpur at a cost of Rs 1,950 crore.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that significant progress has been made in improving railway safety within the state. Under the ‘Kavach’ technology, safety works have been approved for 3,572 km of railway track, with work currently underway on 1,422 km. This technology is designed to prevent accidents during train operations, further enhancing passenger safety. Madhya Pradesh has also achieved remarkable success in electrification, with 2,808 km of railway routes fully electrified, making the state 100 percent electrified. Additionally, 2,456 km of new tracks have been constructed, which is equivalent to the entire rail network of Denmark.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that for better passenger experience, 4 Vande Bharat Express trains are being operated in Madhya Pradesh, which connects 14 districts of the state and has 18 stoppages in these districts. For the convenience of passengers, 69 lifts, 41 escalators, and a Wi-Fi facility have also been provided at 408 stations.
