Post Matric Scholarship distributed to more than 3 lakh backward class students in the state

Bhopal : December 26, 2023, As many as 3 lakh 30 thousand backward class students have been provided post matric scholarship in the state so far this year. Scholarship of approximately Rs 459 crore has been distributed to these students. Under the Backward Class State Scholarship, a scholarship amount of Rs 263 crore has been distributed to 32 lakh 16 thousand students.
Post Matric Scholarship is being given to backward classes students of class 11, 12 and who are pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, technical and professional courses. Backward Class State Scholarship is being made available to students studying in class 6 to 10.
Scholarship for studies abroad
Backward Class Foreign Study Scholarship is being provided to backward class students in the state for pursuing higher studies abroad. This year the benefit of this scheme has been extended to 44 selected students. An amount of t Rs 7 crore has been provided to the students as scholarship. The department is also implementing an innovative scheme to provide employment abroad to the youth and girls of backward classes. This year, the department has provided training to 45 selected youth in the construction sector and 15 in the care worker sector. Out of these, 5 youth have also been selected for employment in private institutions based in Japan.
