Washington, June 22: President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, saying that if Tehran does not choose peace, the United States is prepared to launch further, more devastating attacks. His statement came just hours after U.S. forces carried out what he described as “massive precision strikes” on Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
In a televised address from the White House on Saturday night, Trump stated, “Our objective was to destroy Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and eliminate the nuclear threat from the world’s number one state sponsor of terror.”
“Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success,” he said. “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.”
Trump warned Iran not to retaliate, calling it the “bully of the Middle East,” and added, “Iran must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and much easier.”
Meanwhile, Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion,” a preemptive strike intended to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. Tehran, which insists its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, condemned the operation as an act of war and responded with drone and missile attacks.
According to Iran’s Health Ministry, at least 430 people have been killed and over 3,500 injured in Israeli strikes over the past week. Israeli officials have reported 25 fatalities and more than 2,500 injuries on their side.
Trump further warned, “There will either be peace, or there will be a tragedy for Iran far worse than anything we’ve seen in the past eight days.”
He added, “There are still many targets left. Tonight’s mission was the most difficult—and perhaps the most lethal—by far.”
“If peace does not come quickly, we will target the remaining sites with unmatched precision, speed, and power. Most of them can be taken out in just minutes,” he said. “There is no military in the world that could have accomplished what we did tonight.”
