Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the state government will encourage fairs and festival culture. Ancient fairs are a part of our culture. Bhopal has its own glorious history. Bhopal also has a huge lake built by Raja Bhoj. This area has also been associated with Emperor Vikramaditya. The organisation of fairs will be promoted through the Tirtha Mela Authority. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Bhopal Mela at Dussehra Ground in TT Nagar, Bhopal on Saturday. CM Dr. Yadav said that necessary steps would be taken by the state government on the suggestions related to the organisation of the fair.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Lord Krishna received education in Ujjain on the land of Madhya Pradesh. Lord Shri Ram spent a long time in Chitrakoot. Lokmata Ahilya Devi established the Dev Sthan culture at a time when temples were being demolished. The valour of Veerangana Rani Durgavati was no less than anyone else. She had won 51 battles continuously and in the last 52nd battle, when the circumstances became adverse, she thought it better to sacrifice herself instead of accepting defeat. CM Dr. Yadav said that in Madhya Pradesh, which has a history of such patriots and efficient rulers, information is provided about the rich and glorious history to today's young generation through many spiritual and cultural events. Fairs and festivals are important for the common people.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this year in Madhya Pradesh, the government and society have celebrated programmes like Makar Sankranti to Gudi Padwa, Rakshabandhan, Shastra Pujan on Vijayadashami and Govardhan Puja together. The government will participate in such important events in future as well. MP Shri Alok Sharma, MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Bhopal Mayor Smt. Malti Rai, Bhopal Municipal Corporation Chairman Shri Kishan Suryavanshi, Shri Govind Goyal among others were present on this occasion.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav participated in Ganesh Vandana with public representatives amidst the sounds of conch. CM Dr. Yadav inaugurated the fair by releasing balloons in the sky. Bhopal Utsav Mela Samiti President Shri Manmohan Agarwal said in his welcome speech that in the fair, businessmen participate in the interest of the citizens without worrying about profit and loss. Shri Agarwal also gave some suggestions related to the fair. This fair will run till 31 December 2024 at Dussehra Ground in TT Nagar.
