Prime Minister Shri Modi thanked by Cabinet members for Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project

The Cabinet meeting began today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav with the rendition of Vande Mataram at Mantralaya. In his initial address, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project and thanked Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari for gifting road projects worth Rs 10 thousand 405 crore to the state which was greeted by the members of the Council of Ministers with thumping of tables.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project, pending for almost two decades, will now take shape with the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Modi. This will benefit 12 districts of Malwa and Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh and 13 districts of Eastern Rajasthan. Availability of drinking water will increase in these areas and water will also be available for irrigation and industrial use. He informed that the state’s share in the project worth Rs 75000 crore, is only 10 percent, whereas the centre’s share is 90 percent. Dr. Yadav said that bhoomi pujan of the Ken-Betwa link project will be conducted in February 2024.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that National Highway projects granted by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Gadkari will provide quick and easy road transport facilities in all the divisions of the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that special task force will be formed for the implementation of the suggestions given by Union Minister Shri Gadkari on agriculture and industrial sector and for necessary coordination.
