Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has congratulated Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on setting the record for the longest tenure as the head of government in India. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that citizens across the country continue to express their affection, trust and support for Prime Minister Shri Modi.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has surpassed the record of 8,930 days in office previously held by former Sikkim Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kumar Chamling. With 8,931 days in public office as Chief Minister of Gujarat and Prime Minister of India, Shri Modi’s journey reflects his unwavering commitment to the principle of ‘Nation First’.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has progressed towards the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’, while the country’s global stature has strengthened across sectors, from welfare of the poor to achievements on international platforms. He stated that Prime Minister Shri Modi’s visionary leadership has taken the nation to new heights of development and good governance.

Discussing Prime Minister Shri Modi’s tenure in public office, he first became Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001. Following the Gujarat Assembly elections, he was re-elected as Chief Minister for a second term in 2002, a third term in 2007, and a fourth term in 2012.

Shri Modi became Prime Minister of India in 2014 after securing a full majority in the Lok Sabha elections. In 2019, he returned to office with an even larger mandate for a second term. In 2024, Shri Narendra Modi created history by becoming Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.
