Bombardier to Visit Madhya Pradesh for VVIP Jet Agreement

Bhopal, India: A Canadian aircraft manufacturer, Bombardier, is set to visit Madhya Pradesh to finalize an agreement for the purchase of a Challenger 3500 jet. This modern mid-size aircraft is intended for VVIP travel, including the Chief Minister.

The state government approved the purchase in July, following the 2021 accident involving their existing Beechcraft Super King Air. Since then, the government has been relying on rental planes for VVIP transportation.

The Challenger 3500, priced over ₹235 crores, offers advanced features like advanced wing design, redefined aerodynamics, and a pilot-centric avionics suite. It also boasts a reasonable operating cost and impressive range, speed, field performance, and reliability.

The jet can accommodate 8-10 passengers and includes built-in amenities like a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee/tea maker.

Previously, the Madhya Pradesh government had planned to purchase a similar aircraft from an American aviation company. However, the bid was canceled due to the company's failure to meet the delivery deadline.
