Women and Child Development Minister Sushri Nirmala Bhuria described the budget presented by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Jagdish Devda on Wednesday as a commitment to women’s prosperity. She stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, a budget of Rs 27,147 crore has been allocated for Women and Child Development for the financial year 2025-26. Minister Sushri Bhuria emphasized that the government has prioritized the holistic development of women by embracing the spirit of “Yatra Nariyastu Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devata”, which translates to “Where women are honored, divinity prevails.” She further mentioned that this year’s budget focuses on the welfare of the poor, youth empowerment, farmers, and women empowerment.

Minister Bhuria highlighted that Rs 18,669 crore has been allocated for the ‘Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana’, aimed at enhancing women’s economic independence, health, nutrition, and decision-making roles within families. Additionally, Rs 1,183 crore has been allocated for the ‘Ladli Lakshmi Yojana’, Rs 3,729 crore for Anganwadi services (Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0), and Rs 1,166 crore for the ‘Special Nutrition Diet’ scheme.

She further stated that Rs 350 crore has been allocated for the construction of Anganwadi center buildings, while Rs 223 crore has been earmarked for the National Nutrition Mission (NNM). Moreover, Rs 144 crore has been allocated for non-institutional care sponsorship and foster care, and Rs 124 crore has been set aside for the Integrated Child Protection Scheme.

Minister Sushri Bhuria reaffirmed that the budget prioritizes the overall development of women and children, ensuring their empowerment and well-being. She added that this initiative would not only strengthen social empowerment but also play a crucial role in the overall development of the state .
