1 Lakh+ people watch Aamar Boss in just 7 days in theatres, reaffirming Bengali cinema's box office power

In barely seven days after its premiere, Aamar Boss, which starred the renowned Rakhee Gulzar and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, surpassed one lakh theater patrons, giving Windows Production another successful film.  Without the benefit of a holiday release, the heartwarming mother-son drama that debuted on May 9 has not only won hearts but also drawn enormous crowds of people returning to theaters.

Aamar Boss, which was directed by the renowned team of Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, is already the greatest opening and highest Sunday collection of the year for a Bengali film, making it one of the biggest Bengali cinematic hits of 2025 thus far.  It is touching people of all ages with its stirring story, stirring performances, and universal feelings.

Given the current environment, when a number of production companies are choosing direct-to-OTT releases because of the delicate market conditions, this milestone becomes even more noteworthy.  However, Windows made the decision to support the theatrical experience, and the outcomes are self-evident.

"It is both humbling and hopeful to see one lakh people flock to theaters for a Bengali film in just one week," Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee said in a joint statement.  Our belief in the power of big-screen storytelling has never wavered.  We are appreciative that the audience has responded so warmly to Aamar Boss, a movie about relationships.
