India's energy requirement set to double by end of decade: Mukesh Ambani at PDEU Convocation

India’s energy requirement is set to double by the end of this decade as the country is on the path of becoming a 40 trillion-dollar economy by 2047, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has said.

Ambani’s comments came at the convocation of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) where he said that in the next 25 years, India will witness an unprecedented explosion of economic growth.

“And to fuel this growth, the country will need enormous amounts of energy – Clean, Green Energy that won’t choke Mother Nature for the sake of human progress,” he said at the event on Saturday.

“I am confident that India is capable of developing smart and sustainable solutions to address this trilemma because it has extremely talented young minds who have vowed to fight the Climate Crisis,” Ambani said adding, “They will design breakthrough energy solutions to build not just a strong and Atmanirbhar India, but also a safer and healthier planet.”

Addressing the convocation, he said that energy transition has become a critical factor in transforming India’s journey of becoming a global leader in green, sustainable and inclusive development.

He asked students present at the event to never forget their roots as they step into the professional world.

“As you stand at the doorstep of a bright and promising future, I want to share with you five powerful mantras for your success in your onward journey,” he told the pupils.

He asked the students to dream big and be fearless, curious, empathetic and patriotic.

“Courage is the ship that can safely sail you across the stormiest of seas. Your dreams should be big and ambitious. For they act as the propeller accelerating your life’s journey,” Ambani said.

He added, “Be PATRIOTIC! I am what I am in life because of India, because of Bharat. Wherever your life takes you, contribute your utmost to the greatness and glory of India.”
