Best Performing State Award to MP

Madhya Pradesh has bagged the second award in the category of Best Performing State Award for effective implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The award has been given to Madhya Pradesh by the Union Ministry of Urban Affairs for convergence with other schemes, conduct of IEC (publicity) activities and performance of state level technical cell. Madhya Pradesh has also received the Best Performing State Award (PMAY (U), Empowering India Award) for effective implementation of the scheme. Madhya Pradesh has received 4 awards in the ‘Khushiyon Ka Ashiyana’ competition of the Union Urban Affairs Ministry.

Free residential pattas to landless families

Many innovations and effective strategies made by the state government have contributed significantly to the success of the scheme. Residential land pattas are being provided to landless families in urban areas, so that they can avail the BLC of the scheme. This is the most popular component of the scheme in small and medium towns, in which the beneficiary constructs his own house.

Tripartite Agreement and Additional Benefits

The department has provided easy loans to beneficiaries on the responsibility of the urban bodies through a tripartite agreement in order to overcome the difficulty of the beneficiaries of taking loans from banks in the Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) component of the scheme. Besides, for the registered poor construction workers of urban areas, who are not able to meet the beneficiary share, an additional grant of up to Rs 1 lakh is being given from the Chief Minister Building and Construction Workers Housing Scheme, in addition to the amount fixed in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. It may be noted that under the A.H.P. quality affordable housing is constructed and made available to urban homeless families with state and central grants. To add momentum to the scheme and to encourage the beneficiaries, distribution of funds, griha pravesh, bhoomi-pujan along with beneficiary communication programmes are also being conducted constantly in the state.
