Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will launch this year’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign on the occasion of World Environment Day, June 5 (Thursday), at Kushabhau Thackeray International Auditorium, Bhopal. On this occasion, Dr. Yadav will also inaugurate the Integrated Environment Management Portal. Additionally, he will distribute PhD scholarships and present the Madhya Pradesh Annual Environment Award. This year, World Environment Day will be observed on the theme “Elimination of Plastic Pollution”. Minister of State for Forest and Environment, Shri Dilip Singh Ahirwar, will attend the programme as the special guest.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will release the Wetland Atlas of Madhya Pradesh, prepared by the State Wetland Authority. He will also present the Madhya Pradesh Annual Environment Award to distinguished units and institutions for their contributions to environmental conservation. The programme will be attended by Principal Secretary, Environment, Shri Navneet Mohan Kothari, Executive Director of EPCO, Shri Shriman Shukla, Member Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Shri Achyutanand Mishra, along with eminent environmentalists, representatives of various institutions and units, and departmental officers.
