Bhopal, September 18, 2024: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav today announced a significant push to promote sports and enhance sports infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh.
The key initiatives include:
- Dedicated Academies: Separate academies for Mallakhamb and gymnastics will be established in Ujjain.
- Sports Adventure: Adventure sports will be integrated with tourism and forestry departments.
- Sports Stadiums: Every district will have a sports stadium equipped with a helipad.
- Incentives for Athletes: Olympic and Asian Games medalists will be appointed as gazetted officers, while other athletes will be eligible for government jobs through sports quotas.
- Youth Sports Campaign: A campaign to engage high school and higher secondary students in sports will be launched.
- State-Level Youth Games: A state-level youth games competition will be held.
- Sports Celebrations: A calendar will be created for organizing sports events throughout the year.
Additionally, the post of Director of Sports will be upgraded to Director General of Sports, and the state's performance in equestrian and shooting will be further improved.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that these initiatives will not only elevate the standard of sports in Madhya Pradesh but also inspire young people to lead healthy lifestyles.
