Several Russian women are finding fame and fortune in India, becoming social media stars with thousands of adoring fans. These influencers, like Evgenia Belskaia, Yulia Aslamova, and Ekaterina Raman, have all made India their home, captivated by its culture and opportunities.
Belskaia, an actress, model, and producer, stumbled upon her love affair with India during a vacation in Goa. What was meant to be a short stay turned into a life-changing experience. "Goa felt so peaceful," she says, a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of Moscow. Now with over 16,000 Instagram followers, she shares her life in India, showcasing its beauty and freedom.
Belskaia isn't alone. Many Russians are finding success as influencers in India. Drawn by the vibrant culture and booming economy, they've put down roots and built large online followings. Yulia Aslamova, now Head of Asia at a marketing firm, found love, motherhood, and business opportunities in India. "It's an attractive place for tourists, but the economic growth is what really caught my eye," she explains. Adapting to a new culture wasn't easy, though. From food and language to social norms and work styles, the differences were vast. "There were a lot of cultural shocks," Aslamova admits, "but I learned to navigate them."
Building a career in India required further adjustments. Aslamova, who has over 15,000 followers across social media, says, "Russians are very direct in business, but here, diplomacy is key."
Ekaterina Raman, a fashion blogger with over 181,000 Instagram followers, faced similar challenges. Living in Madhya Pradesh with her Indian husband, she encountered customs that were initially difficult to grasp. "Wearing traditional clothes every day just wasn't me," she says, "but I love them for special occasions."
Despite the initial hurdles, these Russian women have all embraced India. They've built successful careers, found love, and become cultural icons, proving that social media can connect hearts across borders.
