Taking to Twitter, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, "Energising India-US knowledge partnership. PM @narendramodi interacted with a group of eminent US academics hailing from diverse fields of agriculture, marketing, engineering, health, science & technology."

As of 7:59 a.m. IST, India's NSE stock futures on the Singapore Exchange were down 0.10 per cent at 18,861.50. Wall Street shares fell overnight in anticipation of Powell's appearance before the House Financial Affairs Committee at 7:30 p.m. IST. As a result of China's minor rate drop, Asian markets plummeted.
