Grand Celebrations Across the State on Independence Day
Independence Day will be celebrated across the state with programs filled with patriotic fervour.

Independence Day will be celebrated across the state with programs filled with patriotic fervour. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will hoist the national flag at the state-level ceremony at Lal Parade Ground in the capital, Bhopal. He will take the salute of the parade and address the people of the state. The Chief Minister’s message will be broadcast live at district headquarters during local ceremonies. CM Dr. Yadav will pay floral tributes to martyrs at Shaurya Smarak, before the main event.
District-Level Programs
Programs at the district level will begin at 9:00 am, where the Speaker of the Assembly, ministers, and collectors will hoist the national flag, sing the national anthem, and take the salute of the parade. The Chief Minister’s message will be read out from 9:25 to 9:55 am, with a live broadcast from the state-level function in Bhopal. Afterwards, the Speaker, ministers, and collectors will read out a brief congratulatory message. At Janpad Panchayat headquarters, Janpad Presidents will hoist the flag and lead the national anthem. In municipalities or municipal councils whose headquarters are not at the block headquarters, their presidents will hoist the flag and lead the anthem. At the Gram Panchayat headquarters, sarpanches will hoist the flag and lead the national anthem. All Members of Parliament, MLAs, mayors, councillors and other eminent citizens will be invited.
Flag Hoisting at Government Offices and Institutions
All government offices and educational institutions will hoist the national flag at or before 8:00 am, followed by cultural and literary programs. Morning Prabhat Pheris will be held in schools and colleges, keeping weather conditions in mind. Activities will include sports events, skill demonstrations, inter-school and inter-college debates, student speeches on the significance of August 15, programs on national unity, small savings, population stabilisation, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and distribution of awards, certificates and medals. Tree plantation drives will also be organised, with the Forest Department providing necessary support. Group singing of national unity songs will be held at the district, divisional, and state levels. Freedom Runs will also be organised at district headquarters.
Special Arrangements and Honours
Primary medical aid arrangements will be available at program venues. On August 14 and 15, 2025, public buildings and monuments of national importance across the state will be illuminated. Freedom fighters, families of soldiers martyred in Kargil, and state’s democracy activists will be respectfully invited to the celebrations. Elderly freedom fighters will be personally honoured at their homes by the Collector or an authorised representative, with a shawl and ‘Shrifal’.
