200 cases of illegal mining registered

Bhopal : Wednesday, May 29, 2024, In compliance with the instructions given by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, action is being taken against illegal mining, transportation, storage, and overloading of sand and other minerals. Strict action is also being taken against those who engage in mining work in rivers deviating from the prescribed norms. Nearly 200 cases have been registered in the state including Dewas, Sehore, Narmadapuram, Narsinghpur, Khargone, Harda, and Shahdol. Dumpers, Poclain machines, submarines, etc. have been seized, and a revenue penalty of Rs 1 crore 25 lakh has been imposed. Notably, in a review of departments held recently, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav had given instructions to take strict action against those engaged in illegal mining from rivers.

Instructions have been given to take strict action against illegal miners by running a campaign till June 15. Collectors and Mineral Officers will ensure action to effectively ban in-stream mining, ensure that there is no transportation of more than the quantity of ETP issued, and ensure that mining is not carried out outside the approved area.
