Chief Minister Dr. Yadav hailed the decision to posthumously confer Bharat Ratna on former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, former Prime Minister Shri PV Narasimha Rao and agricultural scientist Dr. MS Swaminathan saying that it is matter of happiness for the nation.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this decision. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi rising above politics, invaluable contributions of great personalities have been recognized by announcing Bharat Ratna for them.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh created a distinct image among the proletariat class with his style. He was sentinel of democracy. He vehimently opposed imposition of Emergency. He is known as a great leader of the farmers of Uttar Pradesh and his contribution to the agriculture sector will always be remembered.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that former Prime Minister Shri PV Narasimha Rao was a great scholar. He was dedicated to welfare and evelopment of nation in various capacities as MLA, MP, Chief Minister, Union Minister and Prime Minister. His contributioins are voluminous. His financial accumen played an important role in nation building.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that awarding Bharat Ratna to Dr. MS Swaminathan is a moment of joy for the farming and scientific community. He brought about Green Revolution and due to his tireless efforts, agriculture became a profitable business transforming the lives of countless farmers.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav paid tributes to them and ackonowledged their contributions.
