- 21/03/2026
State AI Mission to Give New Momentum to Good Governance and Development
Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has announced that the Madhya Pradesh State AI Mission will soon be launched to accelerate good governance and development in the state, making the governance system more effective, transparent and citizen-centric. The mission will play a significant role in improving service delivery and expanding economic opportunities. The State AI Mission will be based on the State AI Vision and Action Framework, through which governance will be made predictive, proactive and data-driven.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that AI technologies will be used with human-in-the-loop (human oversight) to ensure security, transparency and public trust. With the implementation of the AI Mission, citizens, especially farmers, rural communities, youth and underprivileged groups will receive faster, smarter and more personalised services. The state government is committed to making AI technology accessible and affordable so that its benefits reach every section of society.
Boost to Predictive Governance
Under the State AI Mission, potential risks in key sectors such as agriculture, health, nutrition and disaster management will be identified in advance. Principles of Responsible AI will be adopted, ensuring transparency, auditability and privacy protection in all AI systems. To enhance administrative efficiency, officials will also be provided with AI tools related to drafting, analysis and decision support and data management. The use of AI will not remain limited to pilot projects but will be implemented widely across the state’s major schemes.
Mission to be implemented in Phases
The State AI Mission will be implemented in a phased manner. In 2026–27, existing AI initiatives will be consolidated, and the necessary foundational preparations will be strengthened. In 2027–28, successful use cases will be scaled across various departments, and from 2028 onwards, AI will be developed as a permanent institutional capability in governance.
AI Strengthening Access to Citizen Services
Platforms such as MP e-Seva and Sampada 2.0 are making citizen services more accessible, transparent and responsive through AI-based eligibility identification, facial recognition and real-time tracking. The AI-based Girdawari system has improved accuracy and reliability in land and crop-related services. In the agriculture sector, initiatives such as AI-based Girdawari, the SIPRI project, district-level GIS platforms, and SARA and Unnati AgriGIS are being used for crop mapping and yield assessment across millions of land parcels. This has strengthened transparency and decision-making in the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
AI Promoting Social Empowerment
Under AI-based initiatives, the Suman Sakhi program is helping monitor maternal and child health services. Through MP Kaushal Rath and GyanKosh, youth are being connected with skill training and employment opportunities. The AI-based identification system on the Samagra platform is ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach eligible beneficiaries in a transparent and targeted manner.
Focus on AI Skill Development
A strong AI ecosystem will be developed in the state through partnerships with startups, academic institutions and industry. AI skill development programs for youth and government officials will also be conducted to prepare human resources in line with future technological requirements.
Madhya Pradesh to Emerge as a New Model of Good Governance
Based on the principle of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’, the AI-driven approach will elevate the quality, transparency and effectiveness of citizen services. The state government aims to take AI beyond laboratories and establish it as a public good, ensuring that its benefits reach the last person in society and promote inclusive and accountable development.
