First Rheolytic Thrombectomy Facility Launched in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh
Clot removal through a small needle puncture, without major surgery
Treatment possible without general anaesthesia
Rapid restoration of blood flow offers new hope in complex clot cases
Bhopal, February 21, 2026: Marking a significant advancement in healthcare services, Noble Multi Speciality Hospital, Bhopal, has commenced treatment using advanced Rheolytic Thrombectomy technology. According to the hospital management, this is the first such advanced facility in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, aimed at treating complex blood clots.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Dr. Agamya Saxena (MD, EBIR), Chief Interventional Radiologist, Noble Multi Speciality Hospital, and Dr. Sarvesh Mishra (MBBS, MD), Director, Noble Hospital, Bhopal, and Critical Care Expert, explained that the system is based on a pharmacomechanical approach that combines medication with mechanical clot disruption to rapidly restore blood flow in the affected area.
Dr. Saxena stated that the technology enables removal of blood clots from the hand, leg, abdomen, dialysis fistula, and other parts of the body without the need for major surgery. “The procedure does not require any incision or stitches. A small needle puncture through an artery allows access to the affected region, where the clot is removed,” he explained.
Dr. Mishra highlighted that as per the new Stroke Guidelines 2026, several health organizations are prioritizing rapid thrombectomy-based treatments, as timely intervention can significantly reduce the risk of paralysis and other severe complications. He urged citizens not to ignore symptoms such as sudden limb weakness, swelling, severe pain, discoloration of the skin, difficulty in speaking, or numbness in any part of the body, and to consult an interventional radiologist immediately.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Agamya Saxena has successfully performed more than 125 complex thrombectomy procedures using this technique at Noble Hospital. Previously, the equipment was used on a rental basis, leading to logistical challenges in scheduling procedures. With the purchase of the system, Noble Hospital becomes the first hospital in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to offer this procedure on a 24×7 basis.
During the press conference, a beneficiary patient, Akash (name changed), shared his experience, explaining how the prompt decision and expertise of the Noble Hospital team helped save his leg from amputation.
Experts believe that the availability of this advanced facility locally will reduce the need for patients from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to travel to metropolitan cities for vascular treatments, thereby saving both time and resources.
