CM Yadav: New Dimension to Yoga with Millets
Bhopal: Friday, June 21, 2024, State to Establish 11 Ayurvedic Colleges
The Madhya Pradesh government has announced the establishment of 11 new Ayurvedic colleges. Additionally, farmers will be incentivized to produce millets. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav launched the Shri Ann Swayam campaign. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a state-level program was held at the Chief Minister's residence, where several representatives and officials participated in yoga sessions.
Prime Minister Modi’s Address
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address from Srinagar on International Yoga Day 2024, stated that yoga is not just a discipline but a science that aids in enhancing concentration and strengthening mental power. He praised the efforts to popularize yoga and highlighted that ten years ago, 177 countries supported India's proposal for International Yoga Day at the United Nations.
Chief Minister Yadav’s Address
Chief Minister Yadav commended Prime Minister Modi's initiatives, emphasizing that yoga signifies the union of mind and soul. He highlighted the integration of millets with yoga this year, expressing pride in upholding Indian culture.
Promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda in the State
CM Yadav mentioned that after the formation of the Yoga Commission in Madhya Pradesh, yoga has been incorporated into the curriculum. The establishment of the Anand Department along with the promotion of yoga and Ayurvedic medicine is being prioritized.
Incentives for Millet Production
CM Yadav announced an incentive of 1,000 rupees per quintal for farmers producing millets. This initiative aims to boost the production of these nutritious grains.
Other Program Activities
During the program, farmers presented millet seed packets to CM Yadav. A collective yoga session was conducted at the Chief Minister's residence, where CM Yadav, along with representatives and senior officials, practiced various yoga asanas. Principal Secretary of AYUSH and School Education, Mrs. Rashmi Arun Shami, delivered the welcome address and provided details about this year’s International Yoga Day theme, "Yoga for Self and Society."
