Nana Patekar will soon be gracing the big screens with Vivek Agnihotri’s medical thriller, The Vaccine War. During the trailer launch event of his next, the veteran actor took a potshot at recent blockbusters such as Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. Both the movies did phenomenal business at the box office.

Nana Patekar said that when he watched a film that had been enjoying considerable success at the box office, he was unable to even sit through the entire movie.

He further asserted that only certain types of films are being produced, and audiences are being forced to watch them. Although the actor did not take any name, movie buffs claimed that Nana Patekar was either talking about Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan or Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2.

Now, during a recent interaction with News18, Nana Patekar was all praises for King Khan. Calling Shah Rukh Khan a great artist, Nana Patekar shared that he was the one who had told SRK that he would be a big star one day. The veteran star further said that although they do not meet regularly, whenever they do, it feels just like the good old days.

He was quoted saying, “He’s a very fine artiste. His first film, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, was with me. Another film got a release first, but his first was with me. You can ask him, I told him back then, during his first film, that he’d become a very big star one day.”

The actor added, “Whenever he meets me, he’s very respectful, I have no issues with him. He’s my own, he’s junior to me, so why would I have a problem with him?”

Nana Patekar further cleared the air saying that he has absolutely no issues with Shah Rukh Khan and he considers him as one of his own.

Jawan, starring Deepika Padukone, Lady Superstar Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi in significant roles, turned out to be a box office tsunami. Just within a few days of being released, the action thriller managed to mint approximately Rs 1000 crore at the ticket counters worldwide.
