The Delhi Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the assault case of AAP MP Swati Maliwal.

Maliwal filed an FIR last week, three days after she alleged that Arvind Kejriwal’s close aide Bibhav Kumar physically assaulted her at the chief minister’s residence on May 13.

Since then, a copy of her complaint to the police and videos showing the ruckus that ensued between Maliwal and Kejriwal’s staffers following the alleged attack has been going viral on social media.

Maliwal and leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have also been engaging in a war of words with the party claiming that the former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has been spreading lies over her assault.

Meanwhile, the SIT will be headed by Additional DCP (North) Anjitha Chepyala.

Delhi Police collect exhibits from CM’s house

On Sunday, the police visited Kejriwal’s residence to collect evidence from the spot where Maliwal claims she was attacked.

The exhibits included a digital video recorded and CCTV footage from the area.

Meanwhile, Kumar was arrested from Kejriwal’s residence on Saturday following which he was produced before a Delhi court.
