Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav chaired the Council of Ministers’ (Cabinet) meeting held at Mantralaya. The Cabinet approved an increase of ₹2,813.21 crore to be borne by the state government in the proposed cost of revised projects under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’, which amounts to about 13.55 percent. So far, under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ in Madhya Pradesh, 27,990 single-village taped water supply schemes, costing Rs. 20,765 crore, and 148 group water supply schemes, costing Rs. 60,786 crore, have been sanctioned. Out of these, 15,947 village schemes have been completed, while work on 12,043 schemes is in progress at various stages. A total of 8,358 schemes required revision. After a detailed examination of the proposals received from districts, a revised cost of Rs. 9,026.97 crore has been recommended for approval to ensure functional household tap connections for approximately 7 lakh rural families. The original approved cost of these projects was Rs. 6,213.76 crore.
Approval for Indore–Ujjain Greenfield (Access-Controlled) Road
The Cabinet approved administrative sanction of Rs. 2,935.15 crore, including land acquisition, for the construction of the 48.10 km long Indore–Ujjain Greenfield (Access-Controlled) Road as a four-lane highway with paved shoulders and two-lane service roads on both sides under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
This approval supersedes the earlier sanction given to the Public Works Department, and the project will now be executed under the HAM model. The project will include construction of 34 underpasses, 2 flyovers, 1 railway overbridge, 7 medium bridges and 2 major junctions, along with junction improvements, road safety measures, and road marking. The concession period for construction and maintenance will be 17 years.
Approval for New Railway Overbridge in Ujjain
In view of the upcoming Simhastha 2028, the Cabinet approved an administrative sanction of Rs. 371.11 crore for the construction of a new four-lane railway overbridge at Harifatak railway crossing in Ujjain. The overbridge will be 980 meters long, extending from Harifatak Square to Neelkanth Gate. The project will be executed under the Simhastha head.
Approval for Narmadapuram–Timarni Road
The Cabinet also approved administrative sanction of Rs. 972.16 crore, including land acquisition, for the construction of the 72.18 km long Narmadapuram–Timarni Road as a two-lane highway with paved shoulders under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). The project will include the construction of 2 underpasses, 4 major bridges, 37 medium bridges, 14 major junctions, and 52 medium structures. In addition, works such as junction improvements, safety measures, road markings and the installation of road furniture will be carried out. The concession period for road construction and maintenance will be 17 years.
