Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan is set to make his big-screen comeback with the romantic drama Mere Raho, releasing on December 12. The film stars popular South Indian actress Sai Pallavi opposite Junaid, is directed by Sunil Pandey, and produced by Aamir Khan Productions in association with Mansoor Khan.

Shot across Japan’s snowy landscapes, the film also features the famous Sapporo Snow Festival. Initially titled Ek Din, its release was delayed due to a snowstorm in 2024. The project is now complete and marks an important theatrical return for Junaid, who debuted on OTT with YRF’s Maharaj (2024) but struggled with his last release LoveYatri. However, Mere Raho will face tough competition, releasing just a week before Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and Vishal Bhardwaj–Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film.

Meanwhile, the much-talked-about romantic comedy Abeer Gulal, starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, will finally release in India on September 26. The film, directed by Aarti S. Bagdi with music by Amit Trivedi and lyrics by Kumar, had its worldwide premiere on September 12. However, it was withheld from Indian cinemas due to political tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack. With no other major releases that week, the makers are confident the film will attract strong audience attention despite the delay.
