Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in India to initiate the establishment of medical colleges under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Medical colleges are currently being set up in Dhar, Panna, Katni and Betul through PPP. In the second phase, work is underway to establish medical colleges in nine additional districts: Tikamgarh, Bhind, Morena, Khargone, Ashoknagar, Guna, Balaghat, Sidhi and Shajapur.
To further enhance health services for patients, 810 new posts have been sanctioned for the operation of additional beds created under various schemes in Tikamgarh, Neemuch, Singrauli, Sheopur and Dindori districts. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing a gathering of youth from Tikamgarh who came to thank him for the expansion of medical facilities. He was honored with a garland, a memento, and a mace. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla and Minister of State Narendra Shivaji Patel were also present at the event.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that the capacity of the District Hospital, Tikamgarh, has been upgraded from 300 to 500 beds, with approval for 160 new posts to manage operations. Last year, a new 100-bed building was constructed at Tikamgarh District Hospital at a cost of ₹16 crore.
The Tikamgarh hospital now offers specialty OPD and emergency services, family welfare facilities, laboratory and radiology units, trauma care, chemotherapy, dialysis, and neonatal intensive care. It also provides prenatal screening, vaccination, identification and management of high-risk pregnancies, safe delivery services, and family welfare counseling.
