A Remarkable Example of Religious Harmony for Development in Ujjain: Religious Sites Voluntarily Relocated

Ujjain, May 24th: A remarkable initiative has been undertaken in the city of Ujjain to accelerate development. In a display of interfaith cooperation and coordination, various religious communities have voluntarily relocated their places of worship to facilitate the widening of the KD Marg road. This act stands as a noteworthy example of religious harmony and dedication to progress.

On Thursday and Friday, a joint team from the district administration, police, and municipal corporation undertook a peaceful relocation of 18 religious sites stretching from the KD Gate Tiraha to the Teen Imli चौराहा (Chauraha - Junction). This operation received enthusiastic cooperation from the caretakers, priests, and local residents associated with these religious sites.  Fifteen temples, two mosques, and one mazar were carefully moved and re-established in suitable locations. The removed religious idols were properly enshrined in designated places with due rituals.

Furthermore, over 20 building owners willingly demolished portions of their structures that obstructed the road widening project.

This initiative serves as a symbol of mutual trust and unity between various religious communities. The district administration also played a crucial role, actively fostering coordination and cooperation among different faiths. Collector Ujjain Neeraj Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma continuously monitored the operation and ensured that no community's religious sentiments were hurt.

Respecting Religious Sentiments:
Following the directives of Collector Shri Neeraj Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma, detailed discussions and coordination meetings were held with representatives from each community before and during the relocation process. Collector Shri Singh specifically emphasized that the religious sentiments of every community be respected, and this principle was strictly adhered to throughout the operation.

Active Involvement:
Under the guidance of the Collector and SP, other officials including Municipal Commissioner Ashish Pathak, ADM Anukul Jain, Additional Superintendent of Police Jayant Singh Rathore, and others played a vital role in establishing coordination with various religious organizations for the KD Marg widening project. Executive magistrates were assigned duties in different sectors along the roughly 1.5-kilometer KD Marg. Throughout the operation, the administration, police, and municipal corporation staff remained actively involved.

The voluntary relocation of religious sites for the KD Marg widening project in Ujjain serves as an inspiring example of dedication to development and religious harmony. It demonstrates that when communities work together with mutual cooperation and coordination, they can achieve extraordinary feats.
