A woman from Nova Scotia is travelling to Turkey to help victims of the terrible earthquake
Mandeep Dhunna says she couldn't sit back and watch relief efforts from the comfort of her home.

After a significant earthquake damaged the region last week, a woman from Nova Scotia is travelling to Turkey to deliver relief.
According to Mandeep Dhunna, she was unable to monitor relief activities from the comfort of her house. She is one of two Canadian volunteers travelling to the United States on Thursday to help out with Khalsa Aid International.
She remembers telling her family that she was leaving: "My parents are frightened and my kids are worried about me and I responded, 'Don't worry, I'm strong.'"
As she saw the catastrophe in Turkey and Syria play out, according to Dhunna, she instantly asked her husband what they could do to help.
Since 2016, they have served with Khalsa Aid in Nova Scotia, serving meals at shelters and giving protective masks to front-line personnel during the epidemic.
