Jabalpur Constable Scales Australia's Highest Peak, Hoists Tricolor
In a historic feat, Varsha Patel, a woman constable from Jabalpur, has become the first female police officer from Madhya Pradesh
Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh: In a historic feat, Varsha Patel, a woman constable from Jabalpur, has become the first female police officer from Madhya Pradesh to conquer Mount Kosciuszko, the highest peak in Australia. On Independence Day, she proudly unfurled the Indian tricolour atop the 2,242-meter summit.
Hailing from a modest background, Varsha joined the Madhya Pradesh Police in 2019. Despite her demanding duties, she never abandoned her childhood dream of becoming a mountaineer. Inspired by Arunima Sinha, the first female amputee to summit Mount Everest, she embarked on a challenging journey to achieve her own mountaineering goals.
Overcoming numerous hurdles, Varsha climbed several peaks within India before setting her sights on Australia's highest point. Her successful ascent of Mount Kosciuszko is a testament to her unwavering determination and hard work.
With this remarkable achievement, Varsha has set her eyes on an even loftier goal: hoisting the Indian flag on the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. Before that, she aims to conquer the highest peaks on all seven continents.
The Madhya Pradesh Police has lauded Varsha for her exceptional courage, perseverance, and dedication, hailing her as an inspiration to many.
