'If Congress forms govt, it will distribute your wealth to infiltrators': PM Modi thrashes proposed 'financial survey'

The Congress party promised a financial census, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has blasted the move, claiming it aims to take the people's "hard-earned wealth" and divide it among infiltrators and those with more kids.

During a rally in Banswara, Rajasthan, on Sunday, Modi referred to the Congress party's proposed survey as "serious and worrisome."

While lashing out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s proposed financial and institutional survey, Modi invoked a statement of former PM Manmohan Singh and said the Congress intends to snatch away the wealth of the public and distribute it to those whom Singh said have the first right on the country’s resources: Muslims.

“Previously, when they were in government, they said the first right on the country’s resources is of Muslims. What does this mean? Whom will they distribute the wealth after seizing it: to those who have more children, to infiltrators! They will give away your hard-earned money to infiltrators. Is this acceptable to you? This is what the Congress manifesto says. They will check the gold that our mothers and sisters have and then distribute it to those whom Manmohan Singh’s government said have the first right on the country’s resources,” said Modi in Hindi.
