Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visits affected families in Parasia

Taking a highly sensitive and empathetic step in response to the tragic incident of untimely deaths of innocent children due to consumption of cough syrup in Parasia, Chhindwara district, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav canceled all his previously scheduled programs and reached Parasia on Monday. He personally visited the homes of the bereaved families and expressed profound grief and extended heartfelt condolences with teary eyes, offering them emotional support. His presence provided the grieving families with a sense of solace and strength.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited Newton in Parasia, meeting the Khan family who lost a young child, and the Dehriya family from village Belgawan. He then proceeded to Parasia headquarters and met with the Khan family again, the Yaduvanshi family from village Dighawani, and the Soni family from Umreth. Continuing his sensitive outreach, Dr. Yadav traveled to village Badkuhi to meet the Thakre family, the Pipre family from village Sethia, and the Uikey family from village Iklehra. Sharing in their sorrow, he consoled them and said, This pain is not just yoursit is mine and everyone’stoo. The grief of losing your children is my grief too. In this moment of agony, I and the entire government stand with you. He assured that strict action is being taken against all those responsible.

In Newton, Smt. Afreen, a grieving mother from the Khan family who lost her 5-year-old son, broke down in tears upon seeing the Chief Minister. She said, We could not save our child, but if the children still in the hospital survive, it will bring some peace to our hearts. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav called the incident extremely tragic and heartbreaking. He assured the affected families that justice would be served and none of the culprits would be spared. He emphasized that all individuals or institutions responsible for the tragedy would receive the strictest punishment. Strict action has already been initiated against responsible officials today.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told the bereaved families that the state government stands with them in this time of sorrow and that no family should feel helpless or alone. The government will support them at every step. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to being with the people in times of both joy and sorrow and assured that all types of governmental assistance would be provided promptly to the affected families. He directed health department officials to ensure that such incidents are never repeated.

High-Level Investigation Underway

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that a high-level investigation is ongoing and no one responsible will be spared. Administrative teams have been deployed to ensure proper treatment of the children currently hospitalized. He added that ban has been imposed on medicines from the related factory in Tamil Nadu involved in the Chhindwara incident.

Strict action has already been taken

Three officials Deputy Drug Controller & Licensing Authority of Drug Administration, Bhopal Shri Shobhit Kosta, Drug Inspector Jabalpur Shri Sharad Jain, and Drug Inspector Chhindwara Shri Gaurav Sharma have been suspended.

The Food and Drug Controller has been transferred.

After meeting the affected families, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the media, stating that the government has taken stringent actions in the matter. In addition to action against the concerned doctor, strict measures have also been taken against the medical store that sold the medicine, as well as the drug stockist.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reiterated that his government is highly sensitive and fully committed to ensuring such tragedies never occur again in the state. During the visit, Chhindwara MP Shri Vivek Bunty Sahu, Amarwara MLA Shri Kamlesh Pratap Shah, and Shri Sheshrao Yadav were also present.
