Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the devotees and citizens on the occasion of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti. He said that the life of Maharshi Valmiki symbolizes strong willpower and victory over the cruelty of humanity. Maharshi Valmiki was an unparalleled scholar, compassionate sage, and poet who earned a revered place in Indian society.
CM Dr. Yadav said that nowhere else in the world can one find such a unique harmony of civilization, religion and spirituality as in India. This is why India, honored with the title of Vishwaguru, stands as a divine symbol of the greatness of Sanatan Dharma. Maharshi Valmiki, the pioneer, guardian, and propagator of India’s eternal spiritual tradition, is a source of great pride for Indian culture. The transformation in his life began with his meeting with the great sage Narad, who inspired him to chant the name of Shri Ram.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the creation of the Ramayana is one of Maharshi Valmiki’s greatest contributions. Through it, he beautifully presented the ideals reflected in the life of Lord Shri Ram. Comprising over 23,000 verses, the Ramayana not only teaches the values of Indian culture but also imparts the importance of self-restraint. Maharshi Valmiki not only composed the Ramayana but also gave refuge to Mata Sita in his hermitage and imparted knowledge to her sons, Luv and Kush.
CM Dr. Yadav said that Maharshi Valmiki taught that the most beautiful journey to understand life is to listen to the Ramayana. Through this epic, he demonstrated that true religion unites everyone, for it embodies compassion, justice, and devotion. Through the life of Lord Shri Ram, Maharshi Valmiki awakened society to the importance of dignity, family, social harmony, and duty. He conveyed that if a person strives with sincerity, it is possible to find light even in darkness, and for this reason, he is revered as the Adi Kavi (First Poet). The Chief Minister further said that the philosophy of Maharshi Valmiki is simple yet profound, never commit injustice, and whenever given the chance to bring light into someone’s life, never hold back. This sentiment forms the foundation of a better society. He taught every section of society that respect is earned not by caste or status, but by one’s deeds and conduct, a lesson that remains equally relevant today. He believed that a lamp of goodness can be lit in every human heart, and thus his life will continue to be a guiding force through all ages. Inspired by his ideals, we must resolve to build a society free from discrimination, where every home glows with education, dignity and self-confidence.
CM Dr. Yadav concluded by saying that Maharshi Valmiki is not merely a historical or religious figure for us, he represents the eternal consciousness that resides within every human being. As long as we live by his ideals, society will continue to progress, and the flame of humanity will keep burning bright.
