Musk Declares 'War' on Advertisers' Cartel: X and Rumble Claim Billions in Losses
Elon Musk has recently opened a front against a group of advertisers.
Texas, United States: Elon Musk has recently opened a front against a group of advertisers. Musk alleges that a group called the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) has illegally boycotted his platform X (formerly Twitter). This boycott has caused billions of dollars in losses for X and another video hosting platform, Rumble.
Musk has filed an antitrust lawsuit against GARM, accusing the group of conspiring to intentionally harm X. Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski has also joined the lawsuit.
This lawsuit follows a report released by the US House Judiciary Committee, which found evidence that GARM had conspired to "demonetize" and otherwise harm "disfavored platforms."
Musk responded to the issue on X, saying, "We tried being good for 2 years and got nothing but empty words. Now, it's war."
Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X, expressed concern about the issue in an open letter to all users. She described the behavior of GARM and others as a "stain on a great industry" and said it cannot be allowed to continue.
